Dr Philippe Blondé completed a PhD in cognitive sciences in 2021 at Université Paris Descartes, focusing on the interplay between mind wandering and episodic memory encoding. In the following year, he held a teaching position in statistics applied to psychology at Université Clermont-Auvergne and undertook a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Iceland, where he conducted research on visual perception and statistical learning.

Since 2024, he has been working at Uniwersytet Jagielloński, studying the interactions between mind wandering, memory, and statistical learning. His research lies at the crossroads of three major areas of cognitive psychology: perception, attention, and memory. He is particularly interested in how perceptual and attentional phenomena—whether internally or externally driven—influence the extraction, encoding, and consolidation of environmental information, both in the learning of statistical regularities and in the encoding of events.
